How to put Corvette Rally wheels on a 70-72 Monte Carlo
The 8" Corvette Rally wheels looks really sharp on a first generation Monte. However, it takes slight modifications to use these wheels because of the offset of the wheel. There are many ways of doing this but I will tell you how I done it.
This process will raise the car up nicely and give the car a really mean look.
Parts you will need:
4 8" wide Corvette rally wheels (of course!)
2 Rear coil springs from a 2nd Generation Monte Carlo. (73-77)
4 twist-in spacers for the front coil springs (2 for each) you may want to use those adjustable front shocks instead.
2 new rear shocks (do not use the factory length, instead use a rear shock that is about one or one and a half inches longer
With all of
these parts, you should be able to get the 'Vette Rally wheels
under there with no scrubbing at all (that is if you use
235/60/15 tires). This is how I did the operation. If you think
you have a better way, send me an E-mail at kevinwiles@carol.net
